In december 2007 The Sun and the News of the
World have contributed to a £37,500 payout to Sienna Miller for publishing
"intrusive" photos of her. The settlement is believed to be the highest award
for a photographic invasion of privacy. Miller took legal action in October
after the papers used photos of her filming a nude scene for a forthcoming
movie. News International subsidiary News Group Newspapers, the publisher of
the News of The World and the Sun, and the Xposure Photo Agency, which
supplied the pictures, are between them paying out £37,500 in compensation, as
well as meeting Miller's legal costs. They have also undertaken not to
republish any of the photographs in question and have agreed to delete all
copies of the images. Miller's solicitor, Mark Thomson of Carter-Ruck, said
she was still pursuing a claim against the individual photographer who took
the pictures.
Sienna was once so touched by an
old poem "Desiderata" given by a blind man in Guatemala that she got it
engraved on an amulet that she carries with her all the time. The blind man asked her to take the poem saying it
was all about her, but when she read the words she
was shocked because she realised he was right. She
said: "He said, 'It's for you...' I was, like, okay, what is this?'
"The poem features the lines, 'You are a child of the universe, no less than
the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is
clear to you, no doubt the universe in unfolding as it should'."
Sienna's parents are friends with Elton John and David Bowie.
The young Sienna was best friends with Calum Best.
As well as modelling work, Sienna Miller acted in theatrical
productions like Independence, A School for Scandal, The Striker, and

Bess.

particular. Her step-mother, Kelly Hoppen, having split from Ed Miller, dated
Sol Campbell.
Jude Law was banned from visiting Sienna on the set of her new
movie. Producers of 'Factory Girl' are allegedly scared Jude - who recently
reconciled with the actress following a string of cheating allegations and
break-ups - will ruin Sienna's concentration.
